Christmastime is that time of the year when everyone makes those special treats that only for the holidays.
Now this recipe isn’t a ‘Christmas’ specific one, but it is one that has become our annual tradition in our household and one that my sister, and fellow Celiac sufferer, looks forward to receiving when she come up for the holidays.
6 cups of Corn or Rice Chex cereal
1 cup mixed nuts
1 cup Cashews
2 cups of gluten free BBQ peanuts
2 cups of gluten free Cherrios
2 cups of Glutino Pretzel sticks
2 cups gluten free Cheese Bites
1 cups margarine
2 1/2 tsp seasoning salt
3 tbsp white Worcestershire sauce
If you want to give some heat to the seasoning you can add 1-2 tsp of Sriracha sauce
Preheat oven to 350F
In a large roasting pan add all of the dry ingredients and set aside.
On the stove in a pot melt the margarine and then add in the remaining ingredients for the seasoning and stir together until combined and then pour over the dry ingredietns and stir gently with a spatula or wooden spoon.
Place roasting pan in oven and set a timer for 15 min.
When timer expires open oven and stir the ingredients together and reset time for 15 min, repeat two more times (1 hour cooking time in total)
After an hour remove the roasting pan from the oven and give the ingredients one final stir and allow to cool, and then pour the completed product into airtight containers.
